Becoming a "recovery ally" means making a conscious decision to stand beside and in support of those in recovery; understanding that recovery is a lifelong commitment to change; fighting against and educating self and others to end stigma; speaking out in an effort to save other families from the pain of substance use/misuse; understanding that substance use/misuse is a disease for which there is treatment, but no cure; wanting others to believe in the power and hope of recovery.

Burke Recovery is a nonprofit agency that serves all residents of Burke County, including the financially challenged and uninsured. In order to do that, we depend on the financial support of individuals, corporations, and foundations. Financial contributions can be made via cash, check, credit card, or a gift of securities. Burke Recovery plays a major role in community outreach and prevention education. A major part of this effort includes community-based events for which volunteers are often needed.
